Hello,

Writing a report that is to locate and publish any record that is duplicated in only one field.  Searched through to many manuals and now can not run this.  Is there a set formula to locate duplicate records?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I have to do somthing similar, what I have done is

Create a report with just the one field in it
Group by the field so that all records of the same value are together
Add a count of records per group in the group header
Use a group selection to show groups where the count is greater than 1

This should give a list of duplicates, if you want you can supress your detail and group footer, this will make the report look neater and will only show the value once.

Thanks but I have an answer that worked with the complete report. Here is the solution I found that worked: 1.Right click on details section and go to section expert and write the suppress condition by clicking on X+2 2.Write the condition as follows: (if (OnFirstRecord) then ( if {field}=next({field}) then false else true ) else if (OnLastRecord) then ( if {field}=previous({field}) then false else true ) else if {field}=Previous({field}) or {field}=next({field}) then false else true )
