Hi, I would like to print crystal report using Print Engine API. As refer to some of the discussion, global.nsf & global32.lss are the example that requested to refere to, but I found that these 2 example are from older version of crystal report and Notes. The object that used in the Lotus Script is not supported in Notes 6, so I would like to know whether there is any references from the latest version of crystal report and notes or any other method that allow me to achieve my goal?

T,

Crystal a fairly powerful but heavy app that needs consistent attention. I don.t remember the calls, but Notes/Domino will let you call MS Office objects. If your app distribution includes MS Office Pro, I.d abandon Crystal unless your company is vested. You can even drop most Crystal queries and detail sections into Access and get a basic report to work in a few minutes.

You could also DDE or use text files to start a report in Approach if you.re also using SmartSuite.

In both Access and Approach, you can mimic Crystal.s “stand alone” operation by having a “switchboard” style form on a server with buttons to call up typical reports. Of course, the form is a db opened by the client.s local app and is linked to whatever db server you.re using.

It.s nice that Crystal has gotten itself bundled into most suites and most MS dev kits, but it.s extremely unhandy, IMHO, for banging out reports.

If your Domino is over Banyan Vines, you will have to explicitly delete report files before being able to replace them or even change their name from script. This info is circa 1998.

Good luck, :) Gene
