 Crystal Report Database Queries

I have a crystal report (XI) with approx 25 tables querying from MSSQL Server. I was wondering if there is a limit to the number of tables allowed in a query. or a limit to the number of alais allow against specific tables? Reason I ask: I recently tried to add tables (alias of tables already on the report) but when I joined the tables and set a filter I got the following message: 'if tables are already linked then the join type cannot change'
