I want to create a template of an Active Directory user and use that to start when adding a new user instead of the blank template we get now. Basically login script, office address and that kind of stuff everyone should have.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Creating a user template is in fact the same process as creating a user account, the only difference is that you will probably have it disabled and use a special user’s name.

To use the template you just need to copy the template to create the new user, and then make the necessary changes to its configuration.

Here is a detailed guide:

The template is great and I use it (we are just moving over to a windows env) however I have a problem with the template - the profile section needs two parts specifying - the profile path - as \serversharesprofiles%USERNAME% and the home folder which is \serversharesusers%USERNAME%My Documents The first line works great and copies the username of the new person being created from the template, however the second one keeps the username as the template username - Have I done something wrong? Regards, Bev.
