Q:
Creating a CSV file to FTP
I just loaded Office 2007 and created a csv file which then was FTP'ed to a server. When picked up it had lost its csv extension. I follow this process regularly and this only happened after I upgraded to 2007. Any ideas?

" When picked up it had lost its csv extension" - does this mean that .csv not showing up?

In this case, Open Explore >> Tools >> Folder Options >> View
Then Un-select "Hide Extensions for known file types".
The file should be OK in either way - just the file extension will not be suppressed.
Please let me know if I did not follow your question.

Yes, The csv extension just disappeared and was no longer a picture as an icon but instead the window icon to say that the file is not associated with a program. The FTP server that the file is sent to does not belong to me. Its a government server and they refuse to change or even believe the problem is on their side because all of the other vendors have no problem. Like I said, this happened the first time right after I upgraded but since csv doesn’t have a “year” I can’t save as the 2003 version of csv.

On friday I saved the sheet as excel 2003 and then opened that and saved as csv. I’m still waiting to hear if that worked but I figure its a longshot.
