Create libraries and objects in different ASP’S
Is it possible to create a Library in ASP1 and then when some objects are restored to the library, place them in a different ASP6 all together as might need the Library attributes to remain there on ASP1 and just need to reference the objects which will be restored to ASP6? Are they interlinked or do we have to restore the objects to a library which is in the same ASP?

Answer Wiki:
(This generally assumes you mean 'user ASP 6' rather than an iASP named ASP6.) A library can be created in user ASPs. However, AFAIK, most objects can only be restored into the ASP of the library if the library is in the system ASP. From the RSTOBJ command:<ul> <li>If the library exists in, or is being restored to the system ASP, journals, journal receivers, and save files can be restored to basic user ASPs. <i>All other object types will be restored to the ASP of the library.</i></li> </ul> Create a second library in ASP6 to hold the additional objects. Why would you want the library and its objects in different ASPs in the first place? I can't see much sense to it, so an explanation might be educational. Tom
