Microsoft Excel macros
I get raw data and need to clean it up. The data is a bunch of different products and the spreadsheet tracks the time it takes to process each individual product. The spreadsheet had about 100 different products. The first column is the product name, then the rest of the columns are subcategories and ways of tracking the product. But the product name only appears in the first cell, but the cells below it are blank but each cell pertaining to the specific product needs to be populated with the product name. I need a macro that will take the product name from the first cell and copy it all the way down until the next product name. From there, the next product name will be copied into the cells beneath it until the next product and so on. Thank you in advanced.

If you are using Excel, there is a simple solution. Click on the cell with the name to select it. At the bottom right of the cell, notice the little box. Right-click the box and drag it down to the cell above the next named cell and release. Select, “Copy cells.”

This can be done with individual cells or with a range (vertical or horizontal) of cells.

It is way, way quicker than composing a macro.

Thank you, but I need a macro. I know that little trick and I've been using it to clean up the data manually. But it takes hours because there are thousands upon thousands of rows, so I need a macro if someone is willing to help. Thank you!
