I agree that the trackers are mad annoying. However that said, usually these cookies provide the distributer of said cookies (in this case techtarget)the ability to provide their content (which I love here at techtarget) for free.
Best Practice : Block unwanted cookies. For example on this reply page my browser blocked two cookies from hitbox.com just by my haveing hitbox.com in my list of not allowed (Internet Options->Privacy Tab in IE). Also I would suggest a dumper (like the Earthlink Freeware toolbar that dumps your cookies (only the ones you don’t check off as save) and history when you sign off. Nir Soft CookieView is also a good cookie destroyer (even if it is a manual job).
Interestingly 207.net cookies often get through both my traps.
