Can we convert the data on old LTO2 tapes to LTO3 or to save the data to a NAS.

You’ll need to restore the data from the old tapes then back it up to the new tapes.

    ARCserve backup has a utility called tapecopy which will copy the data from the LTO2 to LTO3 tapes. It is quickest if you have two drives so you can go straight from one to the other. If you don't have two drives you can use a File System Device to copy the data from LTO2 to FSD to LTO3. If you want to fill up the LTO3 tapes then run tapecopy with the first LTO2 tape and then run it again with the next LTO2 tape pointing to the same LTO3. When the LTO3 does fill it will prompt for another tape unless a library is used in which case it will auto load.
