interactive mode :
with opsnav, open the spool list then drag and drop on your pc, you have obtained a text file.
batch mode :
CPYFRMSPLF the spool to a no-dds temp file, then CPYTOSTMF it to IFS.
Although spooled files can be handled as noted above, it makes no sense. Why copy spooled copies of data when data can be copied directly and formatted as needed on the PC. If there is a request to “copy a spooled file”, answer that it can’t be done any more than copying a Windows spooled file to the iSeries can be done. (Nobody asks for that because they assume it’s a dumb thing to do. It’s just as dumb going the other way. It’s possible to do, of course, but that doesn’t mean that it’s smart to do it.)
If a copy of a spooled file is wanted, then generate it as a .PDF.
