Hi everybody, I need some help... I need to convert many user databases from Notes R5 (NSF files) to Outlook (PST files). The users wants all their folders too. If I enable pop3 on my domino server, I am only able to see the inbox and its content. Since the users are no longer here, I have created an internet password in each person document and choose pop3 as the mail system. on my domino server, POP3 and IMAP are enabled. I'm trying to import all emails and folder in outlook express 6 but it is not working. Can someone send me a step by step recipe to get all the emails and folders and their content and make a pst on those... Thank you so much for your help !

check out Microsofts web site and do a search on exchange conversions or Lotus notes conversion they have step by step to convert from lotus notes to Microsoft products. plus there are many different items you have to convert like address books, folders, and emails.

I don't believe that Outlook Express 6 uses PSTs. On my workstation, the files are DBX files. You may be able to migrate these to PST files. The best "free" way is to install the full MS Outlook client. Then you can access the Domino server through IMAP and synchronize the data into PSTs.

We purchased a company which had Lotus Notes and we had to convert all their users to Exchange. We were on 5.5 at the time. We used a product from Wingra Technologies. Excellent product for converting Lotus Notes mailboxes to Echange. It converts Contacts, Calendars, Inbox etc. Go to www.wingra.com. Can be run individually or batch.

There is a Lotus Notes connector for Exchange that allows you to migrate users. If, however, you wish to migrate directly to PSTs because you are going to archive them then use the full version of Outlook which does extract the data from POP3/SMTP to PSTs files which can then be archived

Wingra is now Quest software; the Quest migrator is a good choice if switching to Outlook (not outlook express). Why would you want to move from a full featured collaboration.groupware.e-mail client (Notes) to a "Lite" product (Ootlook Express) anyway? Outlook more closely duplicates the Notes environment and will make you job converting and your users transition period much smoother....

Oulook Express doesn't use PST Files, it uses DBX files. But you can export all messages form outlook Express to MS oulook 200 or greater and then create a PST file in MS Outook. Be aware that MS Outlook 2000 cann't handle a PST file more than 1.5GB. So to solve problem, install MS Outlook on client machines, connect to your domino server with MS Outook and after receiving mails create PST..

Since you mentioned POP and IMAP as a means to migrate from Notes to Outlook, Did you run the Convert task on the mail file(s)? This is probably what you need to do to get the folders. If you have the Lotus Domino Administrator client, you can find more information about this task in the Help file. There's a document titled "Running the mail conversion utility to enable a mail file for IMAP" you will want to read. Basically you need to run "load convert -e mailuser.nsf" from the Domino console. You can also use wildcards to specify multiple mail files (i.e., load convert -e mail*.nsf). Hope this accomplishes what you need. Tom
