How can I stop these events? "MAD monitoring thread is initializing" There isn't an antivirus running right now as some articles suggest. The event logs are as follows. They are happening every minute. Do you ever receive Event 9014 (System attendant is operational)? Is Exchange functioning? Sounds like the Exchange server setup may not have registered properly in Active directory or some WMI classes are missing.

No, I do not receive the event ID 9014. Exchange is up and running. Once in a while the outlook clients receive a baloon message from the outlook icon in the systray that says “Please wait while outlook tries to retreive your messages”. Then the client hangs for about 10 to 15 seconds.
