Has anybody used this software to send data? We are sending a native file, and were wondering if there was a way to have the file converted to tab delimited on the CDSND command? Or, do we have to tab delimit it to the IFS and CDSND from there ?

Hi

Our organization is also using Connect Direct for file transfer from our AS400 to other servers. And as far as I have experienced using this application, you cannot set it up to send files as tab delimited. You will have to add tabs to your file before sending it and also, the other server where you are sending it should have the capabilty to understand the tab character. And one more thing – just in case you face a scenario like that. Packed decimal in AS400, when sent to othere servers, they are not able to recognize it and show them as junk characters. They told us about the translation table being present which can translate the values but it did not worked out for us. Hence, we decided to translate all numeric values to characters before sending them thru Connect Direct.
