Connect the D2K

I am using Oracle 10g. I installed D2K 6i. After installing D2K, I wanted to connect it with the database. I had given my username, password and server name and it is showing 12154 error. What should I do? Just send me a step by step process how to resolve it. I am using xp2. Software/Hardware used: xp2

    Since code 12154 is a generic networking error, it only tells you that your connection configuration is wrong. It doesn't tell you WHAT is wrong. Before anything else, go through your configuration to be certain you are resolving to the right service or host name, the right address, the right database port, the right database, everything that routes you to the database. Also be sure your database is listening for a connection. -- Tom

    You might need to change the database's character set, since it could be using one that is not compatible with Developer 6i. UTF8 should work well. This is something that should be done by your DBA.
