    It is well known that, almost all 3com switches r dhcp enabled.... It is better to use web browser to connect to the IP address of the switch, If u don't know the IP, most probably, it is there in utility CD of switch. Use a serial cable to connect a comp / laptop to the console port via Hyper Terminal. It is easy enough. Remember, u may use default password, like admin / admin or even manager / manager.
