 Confused about the career path
From last 4 years i am a technical support engineer dealing with AS400 servers and bmc patrol and remedy. Well my organization is giving me an opportunity to switch to QA. I dont know what to do.. There are two options now in front of me either switch to Software Testing or learn more about AS400 Administration and move ahead as a AS400 administrator.. Please its a humble request guide me and educate me because it would be the turning point in my life.. Thank you very much....

Consider also that an employer can easily shift software testing work to whichever country is offering the cheapest labor rate next year, while Sys Admin work is more likely to require him to keep you on-site, hands-on the system.

End of the Day what Matters is Job satisfaction. So Choose the Path you are interested.
Since you are not interested in Testing job Learn more on AS400 Development and get into a Development.

Myself, I’d recommend the system administration track. It’s harder and harder to find anyone who seems to know much about administering the system.
