 Configuring Windows 7 and offline mode
Windows 7 laptops and taking them off the domain. How can we make sure the user can “take home” files that they need to work on over the weekend? Is there an offline mode? Can we prevent specific files from being used like this?

The major changes to Offline Files for Windows 7 includes improved file access and an improved network file experience for users. Before doing this keep in ur mind : 1. Fast first logon 2. Usually Offline support with Background Sync 3. Exclusion list 4. Transparent Caching Transparent Caching is not enabled by default. IT administrators can use a Group Policy setting to enable Transparent Caching, improve the efficiency of the cache, and configure the amount of hard disk drive space that the cache uses.

you can use folder redirection and offline files . thats the best option.
certain files could be excluded from caching but not from folder redirection.
