		<description><![CDATA[As long as there is SQL*NET connectivity and an Intelligent Agent running on the 8.1.7 box, you should be able to configure the database. What you want to do is do a &#039;Discover Nodes&#039; from the OEM console. I agree that you may want to have the OEM Server Manager for this purpose.

THere is no need to load the Oracle8i SQL*NET client on the Win2k server. SQL*NET 9i should be able to talk to an 8i database.]]></description>
