I WAS CONFIGURING A FRESH/NEW RUTER OF CISCO SERIES 1841 FROM A CONSOLE ON A HYPER TERMINAL.THE ROUTER WAS BROUGHT IN ROMMON MODE AND WRONGLY TYPED CNFREG-REGISTRY 1024 AND GIVEN THE COMMAND.AFTER THIS COMMAND ROUTER STOPS ACCEPTING KEY COMMAND AND HYPER TERMINAL BECAME BLANK .I SWITCH OFF THE ROUTER AND AGAIN MADE ON THE ROUTER BUT NOW NOTHING IS COMMING  FROM CONSOLE/ROUTER.CONSOLE SPEED IS KEPT 9600,NO PARITY,8DATA BITS,1STOP BIT ,NO FLOW CONTROL WAS KEPT,BUT CONSOLE/ROUTER IS NOT RESPONDING. IS THE ROUTER IS DAMAGED OR ANY WAY TO RECOVER/ACCESS THE ROUTER.I CAN NOT ACCESS THE ROUTER FROM ETHERNET PORT/SERIAL PORT AS ROUTER WAS NEW/FRESH AND NOTHING WAS CONFIGURED.PLEASE HELP ME .  THANKS

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Its seems that IOS got corrupted or ur in the ROMmon mode, when you are in ROMmon mode and if you restart the router the baud rate changes in the router, try using different baud rates in the hyperterminal. Also if you login in the ROMmon mode do follow the steps mentioned in this article http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_tech_note09186a008015bfac.shtml
