 Configuration Backup for Cisco Switches
Hi, I have approx 20 cisco catalyst 2950 switches, and would like to be able to copy startup config into a tftp server on a monthly basis. Does anyone know if the IOS is capable of sheduling the copy command, or has anyone written perl or shell scripts to automate this process. ? Any Help Is Appreciated. Regards Derek.

Derek: You might want to check out this link: http://www.devx.com/enterprise/Article/21647/1763/page/1 He uses subversion to keep current copies of his router and switch configs. I'm planning on implementing this eventually. I think it would fill the bill for you. rt

The subversion solution is good. If you are a primarily MS shop, take a look at Kiwi Cat Tools. Freeware version will only handle five target devices but the pro version is only $150. Great stuff.

Cheers. We are primarily UX based, so the subversion will work perfectly.

Thanks For your help.
