I don’t think there will be a key in the registry.

The updating is done by internal program code, comparing the virus db version on the (local) computer, against the latest db version on the manufacturers server.

The Computer Associates web site shows only an Internet Suite version 7, no mention of an Antivirus only program.

But the question was about locating the key not deleting it. Maybe the OP was going to use that date to validate antivirus status or to generate some kind of report, but we don’t really know. However, although we don’t know the purpose, the question was pretty clear.

U have to manually clean the registry key that tracks ! or u may use registry cleaner SW.

not sure the date is stored in the registry in clear text for security reasons it’s calculated from various file checksums i assuming.

file locations are ; C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\
