I have a computed date/time field in the form. When I open the document I can see value of the field in the document properties since the field is hidden when document opened for edit. I am not able to see the field in the document properties in a view. The field is summary. Any idea I can make this field to display in a view. Thank you,

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

A computed field will only save in the document if the document is edited and saved, or if an agent is run against the document to set a value for the field.
If you don’t have rights to edit the document or right an agent to set the value, and if the value is computable based on other values in the document, you can write a view column formula to display the value in the view.
fFnally, I don’t know if this is the issue, but it is possible that the field is a “computed for display” field. A computed for display field will never save in a document. It computes and displays only when the document is viewed in the form.

Hope that any of this helps.

I think you didn’t understand the question. When a field is computed and saved it can be referenced. You can see the field in the document properties without opening the document. In this case the properties can’t be viewed without opeining the document.

Also computed field doesn’t have anything to do with computed for display field. Please read this and any other posting carefully before you answer the question.

Are you sure the document has been edited and saved? If it is definitely computed, and not computed for display, then the document must not have been edited and saved. If you can see the Summary field (not Rich Text) value in the field through the document properites at the view level, then that value can be displayed in a view. If not, the value needs to be set on the document, either with an agent, or by editing and saving the document.
