Sir :

How do i complete the installation of additional FUNCTION AVAILABILITY under MANAGEMENT CENTRAL in iSeries Navigator since the function i need like MONITORS (i need this for the statistics) is labeled as NOT INSTALLED. This is also noticeable in My Connections where under a specific IP Connection (e.g. 192.102.10.10), other FUNCTIONS like WORK MANAGEMENT, CONFIGUARATION, Users and Groups (to name a few)are also labeled as NOT INSTALLED. The server im using is iSeries Model 820 with OS V5R3. Do i have to use a higher authority id like QSECOFR (my user id is already quite high since im the sys admin = user class: SECADM/SPCAUT: *ALLOBJ,*IOSYSCFG, *JOBCTL, *SERVICE,*SAVSYS,and *SPLCTL) or do i have to download a patch from IBM to enable me to activate the other more important FUNCTION AVAILABILITY in iSeries Navigator. The FUNCTIONS that i was able to install are the basic ones and this are insufficient in my daily work. My previous PC with the complete FUNCTION AVAILABILITY already malfunctioned so i was issued a new one and i need those iSeries Navigator Function Availability. I'll be learning again from you guys, Thanks.

Software/Hardware used:

First, assuming this is Windows, go to Start-> Programs-> IBM i Series Access for Windows-> IBM i Series Access for Windows Properties. What is the version/release and the Service level? Before anything else, try to get the most current service pack installed on the PC. See the IBM i Access Service Packs page to locate the latest for your release. If you are installing from your iSeries, you might also want to be sure that it has everything installed and updated for iSeries Access too. Do you have install CDs for iSeries Access? Are there any other PCs that have the complete iNavigator install? Tom

Sir, the version/release and the Service level is : IBM iSeries Access for Windows Version 5 Release 3 Modification level 0 Service level SI10817. I also have a CD installer for iSeries Access V5R3. My previous PC which malfunctioned is the only one having the complete set of FUNCTION AVAILABILITY for the iSeries Navigator because this was solely used by iSeries System Administrator but since it's not working anymore, i have to install from scratch a complete set of FUNCTION AVAILABILITY to the new PC issued to me. Thanks.

Since the latest V5R3 service pack is SI30707 and you show SI10817, your installation of iSeries Access on your PC is far out of date. You need to go to the service pack page, download/install the SI30707 service pack from that page, restart your PC and try to update your Navigator again. The service pack level that you have is the original from the beginning of V5R3. Many fixes have been made since then. There might be additional steps after you get up to date, but nothing can be expected to work until most fixes are applied. Tom
