Compile an RPGPGLE Program???
Hi All,
I am making modifications to an RPGPGLE Program but am having trouble compiling it. It does not like the option 14 compile within the PDM and I think there is another option that can be used or command for the compile but I seem to have forgotton what that is. Anyone able to provide assistance?
Thanks

Sorry - not familiar with Progen plus
Do not change the program
You need to call the Progen Generator/Compiler
There maybe a user defined option to call the generator.
There is a function key in wrkmbrpdm to view/change user defined pdm options.
Use F24 until you find the key.

If you set the source type as RPGPGLE then it won’t compile.
Source type should be RPGLE

It does not like the option 14
Could you be more specific???

Option 15 is sometimes used to create a module
and CRTPGM to create a program with the module.

Hi Phil,

It is a Progen plus program, which is why it has the RPGPGLE source type.

When I try using option 14 in the PDM it indicates that the compile option is not allowed with member type RPGPGLE.

I have tried using option 15 and essentially the same message, I have also tried setting the type to RPGLE and compiling but get 100′s of errors surrounding the file descriptions etc so must be some way to run a compile on the progen rpgle program.

I have done it once before but had assistance from a coworker (and can’t seem to locate the notes I thought I had made), however am currently working some extra time from home and figured would try doing some research on it first but haven’t been finding much so thus my posting.

Perhaps I can set to RPGLE type and there might have to be special parameters set for the compile?

Thanks,

Thanks Phil. I never thought to check the user defined options, even though I think in my head that’s probably what I was searching for.

I found it and have been able to compile the program, many thanks your assistance in jogging my memory was greatly appreciated.
