Q:
Competitive rates
What should I expect to pay for outside computer and network support services? Pricing seems to be all over the map. I'm not talking about high-level consulting - just things like hiring some extra IT support during a large upgrade. I'm in the Seattle area, but I'm interested in answers from other markets, too - it could affect other branches later.

I think the market drives this. In my market (midwest, 100k-200k pop) we see consulting fees from 50-100/hr.; entry level IT at 35-50k; advanced (network administrators) 100+. Best bet is to check and price locally, and select a skill set to evaluate costs and comparicons

The standard rates I’m seeing here are around $1200-1800/day for experienced admins. The scale varies based upon experience of the consultant and firm.
