We have the Softlanding product Turnover to do our change management. Our development machine is in a different building and we distribute our software using that tool via FTP. From development to production machine we use a VPN tunnel (note this is controlled by network people). The software uses the ftp code of 'Quote RCMD ADDLIBLE Softturn'. As soon as this happens receive the following response/error
No response received from FTP server.
No response from remote host; all connections closed
We are unable to promote to the production machine!!! Any ideas as to how I can help the network people solve this?

I have found that these types of problems are best resolved by mimicking the automated process by doing the same process manually. Start a FTP sesssion in your green screen and then issue the same commands as used by the automated process. You will likely better recognize the error condition.

This process was working for over a year with a frame relay installed between the 400s. Now using the vpn this error occurs. Currently due to other issues I can not even start an FTP session. We can use the rcmd in one direction but not in the other direction. It seems that the firewall (controlled by Network personnel) is the rejection point. We are working with Sprint to see if we can get away from the VPN tunnel. Thanks for your input once solved I will update the question.
