Colorize Outlook 2007 messages from company senders
I want to colorize the messages from internal senders. How do I do this? I have tried using @domain.com in the FROM field and it does not work. Running Outlook 2007.

Answer Wiki:
For internal people, I think you would have to use the "sender is in specified address book" option, then choose the Global Address List or your Contacts or a different one you have. "From people or distribution list" should work pretty similar. Hope that helps. The above is under ToolsRules and Alerts

I do not see this option in Outlook 2007. It does not show a filter option based on address book.

That seems to permit you to select individual contacts or addresses. It does not appear that you can just select the entire GAL – you could maybe do it one time, but if there are updates to the GAL, you would need to update the rule on a regular basis.

If I choose the “sender is in specified Address Book” option under “Step 1: Select Condition(s)”, I can choose the GAL or Contacts or other lists I have.

If you select “From people or distribution list” then you can only select either people or distribution lists; if the list is in your contacts you need to keep the list updated manually. If it’s a list in the GAL it should be current with the Active Directory group membership (at least from the last GAL update).

I finally found that condition under the rules. I was able to assign a category color. That is progress. Thanks for the advice and assistance!
