 COBOL and .NET web services call?
Can a batch cobol program call a .Net web services? Our current operation system is z/os 1.7. To call a Web services from a batch program, does it need any special software?

Since you specified zOS as your operating system, the discussion of "default file types" is not pertinent. IBM provides a "WSDL Interface kit" for supporting web services calls from CICS, but I do not believe they provide a "batch" interface. I worked with a zVSE client (not exactly zOS, but close) and the web service interface was not supported in batch and I expect zOS to be the same. It is possible there may be 3rd party products to do this, but I don't know of any. By the way - this is not an AS/400 answer, as zOS is NOT AS/400, so maybe this belongs in another section.
