Hi,
There aare two groups.
Security groups: These types of groups extend access rights to members of group. For example, if you want to allow a group of users to allow your high speed color printer, then you create a group called color printer user group. Then you grant permission to use color printer user group and then you add individual user to the group.
Distribution groups. Unlike security enabled group, distribution groups are meant emailing purpose where user can send email to other users.
