 Client Access
I am trying to connect to a old AS/400 ( Model 9406 - 300 running on V3R2M0 ) which is not in production, only being used for Inquiery purposes, using Client Access version 5.50.134.0 I get the following error CWBSY1000 - Communication Error while validating security information on system. The AS400 cannot ping to the PC but the PC can ping to the AS400. The Client Access version is standard accross all the users but only a handfull of PC's cannot get connected while all the others can. I presume this is a problem on the PC side, can someone throw some light on this ?

Answer Wiki:
If the connectivity between the machines is suspect I would absolutely start there. My first guess is the pc's have an os-level firewall enabled (xp with sp2 turns this on by default, for example). Turn off the firewall on one machine and retest your pings. Once you get connectivity in both directions then and only then would I start to look at CA issues. 2nd check, are the pc and the 400 on the same tcp/ip subnet? If not, check your routing tables on both machines and on router in between them.

I agree, you did not state whether the PC’s all had the same operating system. In addition if the PC’s are going through a router then the router may have it’s fire wall preventing you from accessing the AS400. Do all the PC’s go through the same network or different paths?.
