I am trying to export a demand report to excel using Client Access Data Transfer. The demand report has been saved in the outque (see below). From what I understand the data to and from the iSeries must be either a database table or source physical file. How do I convert the saved report to a source physical file? Is there a command to accomplish this? Or is there an easier way to transfer this data? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Create an empty Physical File with the name of your choice. Be sure the file record length matches the spool file width. (EX: 80 or 132 or someting else) Once the file has been built use the Command CPYSPLF to populate the Physical File. When copying the spool file specify *NONE for the Key Word CTLCHAR.

When complete you can FTP the file to the desired final destination.

Simplest is just to use iSeries Navigator to list spooled files, drag the desired report to the PC and open it in Excel like any text file.
