We have installed the IBM Client access v5r3 software. When we connect to AS400 server using Client Access we are getting a time out error (CWBC01048). We were able to connect to the server using TELNET and also ping to the server.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Check the IP routes on your AS400, make sure it has a route to get to the IP address of the client. Also make sure your firewall isn’t blocking the ports required. Thisl ink will give you all the ports used by client access.

To test connectivity with Client Access, use CWBPING instead of PING. The CWBPING will tell you if any ports are not reponding.

Try pining the IP address if it's not failing then try this. If you are using auto connect and the login has been set up in CA make sure it is not disabled.
