We have recently installed an upgrade to our Citrix system (Presentation Suite 4.0 - from version 3.0) and we have discovered that the Java client works a little differently. To make a long story short, we have some employee that work at a customer site, and this customer will not upgrade the browser/java versions and our employees do not have local admin rights to upgrade the java plug-in themselves. This new Citrix version wants to install a new java client... and it fails.
As simple solution for us (or so it would seem) is to downgrade our Citrix system to version 8.3 of the Citrix client that supports the earlier versions of the java client that is already installed on the client computers. However, I can not seem to find specific instructions for how to do this.
Can anyone provide me with simple step-by-step instructions for how to accomplish this? Or, can you tell me if this is even possible?
