We have recently installed an upgrade to our Citrix system (Presentation Suite 4.0 - from version 3.0) and we have discovered that the Java client works a little differently. To make a long story short, we have some employee that work at a customer site, and this customer will not upgrade the browser/java versions and our employees do not have local admin rights to upgrade the java plug-in themselves. This new Citrix version wants to install a new java client... and it fails. As simple solution for us (or so it would seem) is to downgrade our Citrix system to version 8.3 of the Citrix client that supports the earlier versions of the java client that is already installed on the client computers. However, I can not seem to find specific instructions for how to do this. Can anyone provide me with simple step-by-step instructions for how to accomplish this? Or, can you tell me if this is even possible? Just for reference, this is a link to the admin guide specific to the 8.3 client that we would like to downgrade to (http://support.citrix.com/servlet/KbServlet/download/4259-102-11012/ICAJava.pdf) Thanks in advance. Mike

I am not sure what direction you are trying to give me with this link. This conversation is discussing problems with Citrix for which most people are suggesting a reinstallation, but our Citrix works perfectly (from a Citris PS4 perspective). What I am trying to understand is how to downgrade a specific part of PS4 (the Citrix Java client) from the built-in 9.x version to a downloadable 8.3 Citrix Java client. We need the 8.3 Citrix Java client because it supports the older JRE (Microsoft JVM and Sun's 1.3 client). The release notes of PS4 (and Citrix Java client ver 9) states that they no longer support MS JVM or Sun java clients older than 1.4. Their download page states that we need to use the 8.3 client in order to support the older JRE's but we can not figure out how to install it. Any help or clarification is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
