Q:
Cisco's 2500 series router and WAN card serial interface differences
What is the difference between the serial interface of 2500 series Cisco routers and the serial interface of WAN cards (WIC-1t)? If there is no difference then is there any data-rate difference between the above two serial interfaces?

Both support speeds up to 2.048 Mbps. The interface on 2500 was built onto the motherboard, and it later started coming out as a module. WIC-1t is a module having one E1/T1 interface, and it is still available, but 2500 series Cisco routers are long withdrawn.

Hope this helps.
