My company calls on behalf of Associations.
we have a vendor that we purchased a number to place against each Association. This number is given to us to store in our CRM. Then we provide the Caller ID name we want to show up on the customer's end to the vendor who then stores all of the numbers in the CNAM database along with the name we gave them. Then the customer's provider dips into the CNAM database to retrieve the caller id name for the phone number that is calling them (i.e. the number we purchased from the vendor) and displays on the customer's phone.
So, what we are doing is basically telling the phone system to "send out" the number we have tied to the Association to the customer we are dialing so it will show correctly on the customer's caller ID.
Problem we have is we can't figure out a way to "pass" the Association number out.
