Cisco VPN connection – SLE 11 no Cisco Client
Is there a way to get SLE (Suse Linux Enterprise) to connect to a Cisco VPN without using a linux version of the Cisco VPN Client? I have tried to do this with 2 different VPNs and am unable to make a connection. I found information on a conversion process from windows file to linux to import, and that does not work either. Please advise. Thanks.............

Answer Wiki:
Install vpnc. It works nicely. But you need the group name and the group secret.

This answer is from my setup with Ubuntu 9.10

If you’ve got network Manager installed you can add the network-manager-vpnc or network-manager-openvpn plug-in.
Also if you have a working cisco profile then import that after you’ve installed the plug-in alternatively configure it manaually by setting the Gateway, Group name,Domain etc.

one issue i had to resolve was to untick “Avalable to all users” as this may cause you to loose internet connect. There is also an IPv4 setting which needs to be ticked “use this connection only for resources on its network”

hope this helps
