 Cisco Router 857 Faulty?

Hi,

I have a csico router 857 that appears to be faulty. When i connect to it using hypert. or 'putty' there appears to be no config. on it. All of the info. is scrambled - making no sense. Is there anything i can do about this..or is it RTB?

Try to change the baud rate for the hyperterminal, some times you may see some garbage when baud rate varies. The normal baud rate is 9600, if you are using the same then try with other speed as well.
