Before you open an expensive case with Cisco....Do you have CSU/DSU's on the customer side of the circuit on both ends? If so, those devices have built in loopback and testing capabilities. You should be able to send a loopback command to the far end and run your own Bit Error Rate Test (BERT). If it fails you know it is not in the serial cable. It is either in local, inhouse wiring, the service provider's cirucuit, the remote inhouse wiring or (rarely) the CSU/DSU itself. I tested a lot of circuits as a phone company data tech for 20 years. I found that, if the CSU/DSU test failed, about 80 % of the time the problem was in customer wiring and about 20% of the time it was in the Telco's equipment.

I have asked them to run tests and they say there's no problem on my circuit....Could there be an issue with the hardware (cable) though? I honestly don't think so.
