If you're just starting out, the answer to your question will depend on the perceived value of the CISP to prospective employers. My gut feeling is that if you can claim any kind of legitimate, valid work experience it may be enough to offset the lack of such a credential. Were I in your shoes, I would search job listings for specific mention of the credential: the more frequently it appears in positions of potential interest, the more important it becomes; the less frequently it appears, the less so.
