 Choosing disks for storage for virtualization
What are the pros and cons of choosing SAS over SATA and vice versa? Just looking for some perspective on the options.

Answer Wiki:
SAS disks will be faster, and have a longer average lifespan than SATA disks. SAS disks will also cost more.

SATA Disks can be used for archived data, assigning flash copy area or for text files not accessed frequently. Being slow, this should not carry OLTP databases and other mission critical data and better to have them on SAS disks.

I have to say that time 1 of the servers that came with SAS hard disk crashed after 2 weeks…but after that it was quit stable..I agree that it is more stable than SATA disk…
