What would be the best certifications/certification to get for basic remote help/telephone support, such as various printer issues, Windows, troubleshooting, etc? I appreciate any input, thanks so much!!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

In 2000 I asked the same question, and a friend in the Help Desk business advised me to get my MCSE. That certainly helped me get into the field, although in hindsight, I sometimes wish that I had specialized more. I enjoy doing software support more than hardware, especially industry-specific software. The more you can stand out from the rest, the easier it is to be hired ahead of the many others wanting to get into support.

If ur support is related to Windows OS, u can go for MCDST / Microsoft certified desktop support technician certification where u can learn about what u want now. If ur support is based on Linux OS, u can try for RHCT(Red Hat) / NCLA (Novell/ Suse certification) which learning method is based on what u want. And if this is based on Mac, u can go for ACMT.
