I am in the process of doing a system migration from a V5R2 Production Box, to a V5R3 "Soon To Be" Production Box. My question is, "Is there a tool (or program) that I can run, which will compare Cmd parameters for CHGCMDDFT, CHGCMD commands between the 2 systems ? I need to be able to ensure that these commands are identical so that when it comes time to do the migration, this will not come back to "bite" me. Thank you for your assistance -Nick

Nick,
if you have TAA tools installed on your system, the CHKCMDDFT command can be used.

below is the tool description.

CHKCMDDFT CHECK COMMAND DEFAULT TAACMEG
——— ——————— ——-
The Check Command Default command checks commands in one or more libraries to determine if the system supplied CHGCMDDFT command was used. The check cannot be 100% accurate, but can be helpful to determine most usage of CHGCMDDFT.

Since the systems are known to be at different releases, why do you care if defaults have changed? You should expect and assume that there will be changes. That’s a normal characteristic of release upgrades.

Therefore, don’t rely on defaults. Qualify your commands to QSYS and specify the values that you want. Don’t rely on defaults.
