A channel partner can be a term used to describe a company that partners with a manufacturer or producer to market and sell the manufacturer's products, services, or technologie.

This is usually through a co-branding relationship. Channel partners may be distributors, vendors, retailers, consultants, systems integrators (SI), technology deployment consultancies, and value-added resellers (VARs) and other organizations.

Typically, the largest IT hardware vendors distribute their products through large distributors such as Tech Data and Ingram Micro, they in turn sell to valued added resellers who sell to customers.

Enterprise software companies typically don’t sell to the big distributors but establish their own partner ecosystems, a blend of resellers, consultancies and system integrators..hope that helps!
