Changing the owner of a view

How do I change the owner of a view? I have tried using sp_changeobjectowner which fails because the dependant table is owned by the same user that I'm tring to change the view to. Do I really need to drop and recreate the view? If I attempt to update the uid in sysobjects I get a message claiming there is a duplicate entry. I'm using SQL Server 2000.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Do the view and the table has identical names? Off the top of my head, I can’t think of another reason why it would give you a problem. What is the actual error you’re getting?
