Hello all, I wana change the file server then logon as domain administrator in file server and select folders and drag them to new file server but it says:"can't copy file-name:Aaccess denied. The source file may be in use." But there isn't any user in company today and I am alone!! How can I give full control permission and ownership to administrator from first folder till the last folder and its files(nested folder)?? Ofcource I gave this permision but I don't know why the administrator doesn't have full control or ownership on some files???!!! Could you please help me???!!!It is so seriouse for me!! Thank you so much. ------ Regards Mahnaz

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You can reset ownership and thus take control in a Windows system in the security settings of a folder. Do a take ownership (security/advanced/owner) and check replace owner. This will send your ownership to the files. Then do a replace permissions entries to all all child objects. If that doesn’t clear the error, try an old-fashioned reboot. You can check to see which files are open in the management console’s shared folders snap-in.
