Can I access the commands behind the options on the chgsplfa screen. I seem to remember reading about doing something like that, but cannont remember how or where to do that.

I’m not sure what commands and options you are refering to as CHGSPLFA is the command and not a ‘work with’ style interface, but you could customize the behavior of CHGSPLFA using the Command Analyzer Change Exit Program capability of i5/OS.

You are probably remembering the UIM Spooled File User-defined List Action Exit Program that was made available in i V6.1. However, it does not allow you to change existing options. Rather, it allows you to create new user-defined options.

    There is one thing I know of, the system request menu. You can change that by changing the CPX2313 CPF message. I used it to change the DSPJOB command with a WRKJOB command.
