 Microsoft Access change
I'm trying to add fields to a table that says it is read-only. I don't want that,  how do I turn it off?

One way in which you can make changes is to save it on your system as a file and then you take ownership.  Then you can make all the changes you want.  Now, if you do do this, and you want to replace the other table with yours, you will not be able to.  You will have to send it to the owner of the original table.

A table structure will be readonly when
 
1.  The database is read only because someone has it locked.
 
2.  The table is actually a link to a table in another database.  Structural changes can only be made to the table in the database it resides in.
