Q:
Change the language in Outlook Express 6 to check spelling
I purchased a Dell Desk top Inspiron 530. It came with XP Pro, Office 2007 and Outlook Express 6. In using Outlook Express I discovered the spell check is in French not English. When I went to the drop down menu in Outlook Express French was the only language listed.. I checked the default language in the control Panal and it's English. I checked the default language in office word and it's English. If anyone has any idea on how to correct this problem without deleting the program and installing a new one, please let me know. dave722

I have had this identical problem since I installed Office 2007. The Outlook 6 speller worked fine prior to that time. I saw one response to load Word 2004. Haven't tried it yet. I would think Microsoft would do some work on this problem since the spell checker (I feel) is extremely important in Outlook.

I was able to fix this problem in 2 secs. Go to

http://joeduck.com/2007/06/01/outlook-express-spell-check-bonjour-microsoft-avez-vous-un-fricking-clue/

After reading, click on "THIS UTILITY" and follow directions. My spell check is now English.
