Can I change the language on windows vista or xp by reinstalling using the same key? Same computer, same key, just different language. Is that violating any microsoft rules?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

As per license terms once you have purchased a license, you can install it in any one or multiple languages it supports using the same key in the same computer.

The keys are single computer liscenses. They don’t want you using one key for 5 workstations is all, so the same workstation, different language is fine, but I would take a look at the control panel language settings as Brent mentioned below.

Since you said "reinstalling" and I wasn't sure what you were trying to do -- I wanted to mention the "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel.
