I’m having an issue with certificates and mobile access users. My certificate is not trusted on a Nokia E61i with “mail for exchange” app installed on the phone. The phone connects to the server, but immediately comes up with a “this certificate is not trusted” error. I’ve installed the server 2003 standard certificate on the mobile phone as well with no problem. I don’t have certificates services enabled in server 2003’s windows components, but am using the the server as standalone certificates authority.
On another sbs2003 box, I had a similar issue which was resolved where the naming convention of the actual certificate was changed from the local netbios name fo the server, to the internet fqdn the domain. This I could easily change by running the internet connection wizard in sbs2003 and in the “web certificates” section, could create a new web certificate. On the 2003 standard box, the details of the certificate shows issued to “internet fqdn” where as the issued by field shows “server netbios” name. As opposed to the sbs2003 box, the issued to and issued by fields both contain the internet fqdn.
certificate How do I get to change the issued by field of my certificate so it can be trusted by the mobile phone?
